The Most Popular Cocktails at Little Island

At Little Island in Frydek-Mistek we mix over 30 cocktails, and the proven classics have led the way for years: Mojito, Cuba Libre, Aperol Spritz, Whiskey Sour and, of course, Irish Coffee. This guide is all about them.

Refreshing staples

  • Mojito: white rum, lime, cane sugar, mint and soda. A cocktail with Cuban roots reaching back to the 16th century, and our number one in summer and winter alike.
  • Cuba Libre: rum, cola and lime. Born in Cuba around 1900 after the end of the Spanish-American War, its name means "free Cuba".
  • Aperol Spritz: Aperol, prosecco and soda in a 3 to 2 to 1 ratio. The Italian aperitif that has conquered even Irish pubs.

Cocktails for whiskey lovers

We are a whiskey bar with more than 50 Irish, Scotch and American whiskeys, so whiskey cocktails come naturally to us:

  • Whiskey Sour: whiskey, lemon juice and sugar syrup. The recipe first appeared in print as early as 1862 in Jerry Thomas's book.
  • Old Fashioned: whiskey, sugar, Angostura bitters and orange peel. The definition of a cocktail in its purest form.
  • Irish Coffee: hot coffee with Irish whiskey and cream, an invention from 1943.

Something sweeter to finish

If sour and bitter are not your thing, reach for the liqueur-based drinks. Baileys Coffee, a Pina Colada with coconut cream and pineapple, or a Sex on the Beach with peach liqueur and cranberry are among the most common orders in the second half of the evening.

When to come for a cocktail?

We are open Monday to Thursday from 2 pm to 11 pm, Friday from 2 pm to 4 am and Saturday from 4 pm to 4 am. Friday and Saturday nights belong to cocktails, with the bar in full swing long past midnight.
