At Little Island Irish Pub in Frydek-Mistek we screen live sport: football, rugby including the Six Nations, and other big occasions. A match with a Guinness in your hand and a full pub around you is an experience the sofa at home simply can't offer.
Why watch sport in an Irish pub?
In Ireland the pub is the natural place to watch sport; national team matches in rugby or the Gaelic games sell out pubs across the country. The atmosphere is half the experience: cheering together, running commentary from the next table, and a toast after a winning game.
What is the Six Nations and when is it played?
The Six Nations is Europe's oldest and most prestigious rugby tournament. Every year from February to March, six nations take part:
- Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, France and Italy
- Ireland last won the tournament in 2023 and 2024, including the 2023 Grand Slam (victory over every opponent)
- Matches are played at weekends, usually in the afternoon and early evening, the perfect time for the pub
If you have never watched rugby, the Six Nations is the best way in. And watching Ireland in an Irish pub simply has the right edge to it.
What football do we show?
We screen the big football fixtures: European cup ties, internationals and league crackers. The programme follows the current fixture list; if you want to be sure a particular match will be on, call ahead on +420 775 354 883 and we will happily confirm.
When should you come for a match?
We are open Monday to Thursday 2pm to 11pm, Friday 2pm to 4am and Saturday 4pm to 4am. Weekend afternoons belong to sport, and from 8pm the evenings belong to live music, so after the match you flow straight into the second half of the programme.
